KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 27): The NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP), by NCT Land Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of NCT Group of Companies, has received a five-diamond recognition at the Low Carbon City Awards 2024 held at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday (Feb 26).

A statement by NCT Group on Thursday highlighted that the NSIP is the first managed industrial park in the country to receive the recognition.

Located in Sepang, Selangor, NSIP is a 732-acre industrial park, with a gross development value of RM10 billion.

NCT Group founder and group managing director Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy said the recognition aligns well with the company’s vision for NSIP.

“From day one, we envisioned NSIP not just as an excellent industrial park, but [as] a world-class low carbon development, focusing on green energy generation, energy system optimisation and industrial sector efficiency that create long-term value for businesses, investors and the community. This recognition will certainly propel us to continue raising the bar through innovative solutions that align with Malaysia’s net-zero ambitions and global sustainability goals, while contributing to a greener future,” Yap said in the statement.

Launched in 2023, the NSIP will be developed in three phases. The first phase, which is 80% sold, comprises 270 units of link-terrace, semi-detached and detached factory units, as well as 10 industrial plots.

According to the statement, the NSIP is designed with a Low Carbon City Framework (LCCF), and integrates energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, mobility enhancements and carbon sequestration initiatives into the development. The development will also feature solar-ready industrial lots, energy-efficient buildings, recycling and composting programmes, and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure with 40% dedicated to green spaces.

It added that the NSIP aims to reduce carbon emissions by 54.64% by 2035, cutting 230,496.41 tonnes of carbon dioxide and supporting a 171.80% increase in carbon sequestration.

NSIP is a 732-acre industrial park with a gross development value of RM10 billion. The project is being developed in three phases, of which the first phase spanning 250 acres has received 60% bookings. The park features several infrastructures, artificial intelligence-managed facilities, smart surveillance and environmentally friendly initiatives such as solar energy utilisation and rainwater collection systems.

The five companies — Honor Aigrafx Innovative Intelligence International Pte Ltd, Harta Maintenance Sdn Bhd, JMM Lightings Sdn Bhd, Zinxer Paint Marketing Sdn Bhd and OK Coating Sdn Bhd — signed the MOUs during the Selangor International Business Summit 2024 that was held from July 25 to 27.
